Reiki Guide

What is Reiki?

Reiki is pronounced Ray-Key, Reiki is a safe, natural hands on energy therapy which promotes and accelerates the body’s own healing abilities, and it operates on all levels-physical, mental and emotional.

Where does it come from?

No one really knows, it has been traced back 10,000 years where it was (and still is) used in Tibet, and the techniques recorded in ancient Sanskrit writing. It was rediscovered in the last century by Dr. Mikao Usui and introduced to the western world in the mid 1970’s. Dr. Usui was Japanese and hence the word Reiki, which is Japanese and translates as “Universal Life Force Energy “. Rei-Universal, Ki- Life Force….

Yes, a pure energy science, Reiki is based on sound subatomic physics –quantum physics. Reiki can be used adjunct to all other therapies, as it involves using pure natural unpolarised energy and therefore does not clash with any other healing systems.

What can Reiki do for me?

Seriously ill patients can continue to receive orthodox medical attention and use Reiki to enhance their bodies’ vitality and healing rate, to greatly improve their chances of recovery. Reiki also helps to reduce the side affects of drugs and chemotherapy. The immune system is stimulated and strengthened. It clears the body of built up toxins, loosens blocked energy and accelerates the body’s natural ability to heal its self. Reiki relives body’s acute pain, sports accidents, cuts, bruises and so forth. Emotional and stress problems are dramatically helped, as it heals on physical, emotional and spiritual levels.

What is Reiki treatment?

During a treatment the hands remain still in position. Reiki is not a form of massage. It is a gentle form of energy that gives powerful results in both personal growth and healing. The standard treatment lasts about one hour and is physiological equivalent of three to four hours sleep. Normally you will require between three or more successive treatments to gain full benefit from its effectiveness.

Reiki also helps

Reiki is also particularly effective in the treatment of animals. In fact, animals seem to respond faster than humans, probably because they are more open to healing and have fewer emotional complications to slow down the healing process. You can also use Reiki energy on your food before you eat it and use Reiki on your plants to help them grow stronger. The two-day Reiki course ends with a degree, which allows you to practice as a Reiki Healer.

"With the abilities of Reiki you can bring light into your Spirit, learn to love it, and understand the deeper purpose of your character."
